Twenty questions with Flea—Glen Davies

1.   What’s your full name and what are you currently up to (this is your only chance to shamelessly plug yourself)

Glen Steven Davies, happily married to the beautiful Lisa Davies with an awesome daughter Amy and another due on the 22nd of October

2.   You came out of Highvale High School, how much do you attribute that to your success at Glen Waverley Hawks and life over the years?

Highvale High taught me how to smoke and not much else

      3.   Under the current incentives system, how many drinkcards do you think you would've staked claim to in your prime?

Plenty early but then they would of worked out I was a spinner that doesn’t spin the ball and then it would have been back to the wallet for my beers.

4.   What was your greatest moment you achieved as a Hawks cricketer?

Being selected in the Best Team in the first 20 years

5.   Who were the greatest players you saw at the club?

Justin Goddard

6.   Who are your best mates from the club?

Justin Goddard, Greg McCallum, Grant Broadley, Herbie Howard and Andrew Pickering

7.   Who is the most famous person you have met?

Geoff Brady

8.   If someone was going to play the part of Glen Davies in a movie about your life story, who would it be?

Joe Pesci—an angry little man

9.   Which player at the club (past or present) deserves a smack in the mouth and why?

All  at the Hawks are great

10.  Have you ever been arrested? If so why?

No—good clean Glen Waverley Boy

11. You grew up in one of the greatest eras for mullets ever. How good was your mullet and what did you have to do to cultivate it?

I was just a try hard—people like Tony Medina and David Barker were the leaders in that area

      12. If you won a million dollars what would be the first thing you spent it on?

A fence around Legend Park

13.  What is the funniest thing you have ever seen on the cricket field?

Greg McCallum was playing in the 3rds at Edwards St in Oakleigh. Hayden Bristow was captain and bowling. He was tickled down to fine leg in which Greg took chase. Greg somehow lost the ball in the grass and they ran 4. Hayden went off his nut as Greg screamed back “I can’t find it!!!!”

14.  What is your biggest achievement off the field?

Marrying Lisa and having Amy

15. Who would you least like to see naked?

The same person as the previous people interviewed—GLENN POWELL

16.  Before the now famous “Hawks Shack” Clubrooms we now have, the Hawks used to have Saturday Night Drinks at players homes. Did anything unusual ever happen to you at one of these functions?

Was a little young to get into much trouble or anything like that

17.  Has Glen Davies ever

Gotten drunk with Tony Free?    No

Signed an autograph?  No

Owned a Billy Joel Cd?  No

Prostituted himself for a free bed for the night?  No

Been kicked out of a club?  No

18.    You grew up with Greggy McCallum – what’s the funniest thing you’ve ever seen Greg get up to?

Greg landed a young lady one day. That night she stayed we went home and returned in the morning - Asked Greg how he went …. His response was “I’m so unfit”
